Notes from buildingthe systems, not selling them.

Practical writing on marketing automation, AI where it genuinely helps, and search visibility for service businesses. Written for owners and operators who have to make the decision, not for other agencies.

Editorial position

What we publish, and what we will not

There is no shortage of marketing content. There is a shortage of marketing content written by people who had to make the thing work afterwards.

  • Written from build work, not from search volume

Every piece here comes out of a decision we actually had to make on a project — a tool that did not do what its documentation claimed, a tracking setup that quietly broke, a workflow that should not have been automated. Topics are chosen because they came up, not because a keyword tool suggested them.

  • Specific enough to act on

If an article cannot be used to change something on Monday morning, it is not finished. That means naming the settings, the trade-offs and the failure modes, rather than describing categories of solution in the abstract.

  • Honest about limits

Where something does not work, costs more than it saves, or depends on conditions most businesses do not have, we say so. That includes the parts of our own service that are not right for everybody.

Topic areas

Four places to start

Each area below has its own page. Follow whichever matches the decision in front of you.

AI Marketing Insights

Where AI genuinely earns a place in marketing operations — enquiry classification, lead qualification, drafted follow-up, conversation summarisation, first-line support — and where it should be kept out, including anything requiring accountability, pricing judgement or a real relationship. Covers what to automate, what to keep human, and how to tell the difference before you have spent money finding out.

SEO Resources

Technical foundations, site architecture, content structure and local search for a Phoenix service business. Crawlability, indexation, internal linking, Google Business Profile, service and location pages, review signals, and the common mistakes that cost visibility quietly. Written for businesses that sell to a geographic market rather than the whole internet.

Tools & Audits

The checks we run when we assess a business — performance and Core Web Vitals, speed to first response, tracking integrity, local visibility and the full conversion path from click to booked job. What each check looks at, what a poor result actually means, and what it typically costs to fix.

The Blog

Longer pieces and working notes across all three areas, plus the specifics: automation patterns worth copying, integrations that repeatedly cause trouble, reporting that survives scrutiny, and the operational side of running a growth system after launch.

What to expect

Standards anything published here has to meet

These are the rules we hold our own writing to. They exist because most of what is published in this industry would fail them.

  • Claims are sourced, and where a figure comes from our own work it says so
  • No invented statistics, and no percentage repeated because everyone else repeats it
  • Trade-offs stated openly, including where the alternative to our approach is better
  • Written by people who build this work, not outsourced to a content mill
  • Updated when the platforms change, with the revision noted rather than quietly edited
  • No article exists purely to rank for a term we want to sell against
